My name is Jennifer and I am a freelance newborn and family photographer and my studio is located in Lynbrook, Long Island. I specialize in maternity, newborn, child, and family photography. I studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Fine Art in photography in 2002. I then went on to get my Master’s in Education from C.W. Post Campus in 2005, and taught for a few years before returning to photography.
My professional experience as a photographer and my personal experience being a mother of two children has provided me with invaluable insight and the skills necessary to successfully work with my most important clients; your children. As a mother of my own two children, rest assured that the most precious little people in the world, your children, are in caring and capable hands. I am fully insured and educated in the proper handling of newborns, as well as how to work with and communicate with young children as well.
I read a quote once that I feel captures the essence of why I have chosen photography as my career and life’s work. It read : “If you don’t think photos are important, wait until they are all you have left.” Missy Mwac
Wow, that is a statement- isn’t it? and it really got me thinking, why are photographs so cherished, why are they such a crucial part of our day to day existence? And it’s because they are really all we have to hold on to at the end of the day. They are the foundation for telling stories, reliving memories, and remembering the precious people in our lives that we may have lost.
So as a photographer, I realize that the images I capture for you are of utmost importance. When I photograph a newborn, I know in my mind that this stage of infancy is so fleeting and that without the images you have from your session, you can almost forget how tiny and amazing this little creation is that you hold in your arms. And when your children are older, by the time you blink they are, making friends, losing teeth baby teeth, and going through stages of growth and maturation that you only wish you could slow down.
I love every aspect of my job, whether its speaking to first time clients and booking a session, shooting newborn or maternity photos, or editing and delivering images. The meaning behind what I do is so invaluable and I love having a part in capturing the times that are most important to you.
